There is a difference between saying “I cannot do this” and saying “I do not know how to do this part yet.” The first statement closes the whole door. The second gives you something you can investigate.
The title “Goliath Within” by Jeff The Motivator & Lnoda inspires today’s reflection on the obstacles that grow larger when we leave them unnamed.
Take one project you have been avoiding and finish this sentence: “I keep stopping because…” Be as specific as you can. Perhaps you need to learn a skill, ask a question, or risk showing somebody an imperfect first attempt.
Give the obstacle an address
If information is missing, write down the question. If the task is too large, separate the parts. If you are worried about criticism, decide whose feedback would actually help you improve the work.
Some obstacles involve real limits on time, money, or support. Name those honestly, too. A useful plan starts with your circumstances. It does not require blaming yourself for everything that makes progress difficult.
Choose one part you can address this week. Then play “Goliath Within” and give that next step your full attention. You do not have to settle the entire future before taking a serious look at the thing directly in your way.
