Finding Myself Again: Returning to the Parts of You That Got Quiet

↳

Sometimes you realize you have become very good at answering everybody else’s needs. You know what the household needs, what the job expects, and who will call when something goes wrong. Ask what you enjoy, though, and the answer takes longer.

This reflection, inspired by the title “Finding Myself Again” by Jeff The Motivator & Lnoda, begins with that pause. You do not need a dramatic reinvention to become more familiar with yourself.

Think about an interest you set aside because life got crowded. Maybe you liked drawing, growing things, writing stories, or taking the long way home to see somewhere new. Choose one that still sparks a little curiosity.

Make a little room before making a big announcement

Spend twenty minutes with that interest this week. Let it be ordinary. You do not have to sell it, become excellent at it, or explain how it fits into a five year plan. Pay attention to whether you want to return.

Then notice what you have outgrown. Returning to yourself does not require becoming the exact person you used to be. Some old preferences will still fit; others will belong to a chapter you have finished.

Listen to “Finding Myself Again” and write down one thing you want more room for. What would change if that part of you received a little attention every week?
